3 Of Malta’s Top Restaurants Are Now Accepting Bitcoin In Exchange For Their Award-Winning Dishes
Never-ending ups and downs aside, Bitcoin’s rise to mainstream popularity in the last couple of years has been nothing short of spectacular. Now, the cryptocurrency has managed to permeate another aspect of Malta’s lifestyle; fine dining.
Patrons of Tarragon – consistently voted as the best restaurant on the island – informed Lovin Malta that, on their latest trip to the renowned Mediterranean fusion restaurant, they were told they could pay by Bitcoin if they so wished. As it turns out, the St. Paul’s Bay restaurant isn’t the only one that accepts the alternative payment.
When contacted for more information, celebrity chef and restaurant owner Marvin Gauci not only confirmed that Tarragon will now be accepting Bitcoin payments, but went on to say that the service had been extended over all his other top restaurants.
That means St. George’s Bay Caviar & Bull and upstairs Buddhamann will also be happy to accept Bitcoin instead of cash.
All of the top chef’s restaurants were equipped with a system that, apart from cash and credit cards, will also be accepting Bitcoin. The system was set up by Black Rabbit Holding.
Marvin went on to say that this new service has also been extended to his other endeavours, such as the prestigious Budapest branch of Caviar & Bull. Oh, and let’s not forget Dinner in the Sky, the summertime dining extravaganza which has dominated the last couple of summers.
