6 Places In Malta Where You’ll Find Bar Food That’s Anything But Boring
You walk into a bar and you’re feeling peckish, but not that hungry to consume a whole meal either. You ask for a bar food menu (that’s even if they have one) to see a depressing option of stale crisps, dry olives and supermarket peanuts.
Well not at the Maltese places below you don’t. Theses guys take the art of cooking appetising nibbles very seriously and have prepared some pretty creative mini dishes to whet the appetite.
In no particular order, here they are.
1. Hammett’s Gastro Bar, Sliema
Hammett’s bar menu is gourmet AF! Expect nibbles such as crispy chicken wings, maple candied bacon, pork crackling, fried calamari and more.
2. NAAR RestoBar, St Julian’s
Choose from Jim Beam BBQ rib bits, fish cakes, mozzarella sticks, mushroom & truffle arancini, beef skewers and camembert bites. That and more.
3. Emma’s Kitchen, San ?wann
Their new bar bites menu includes tahini/beet hummus, mozzarella di bufala, Spanish tortilla and baked falafel (to name a few), and you can get them from 3pm all the way till 10!
4. Kingsway, Valletta
Just some of the things on the bar menu include meatballs in chilli tomato sauce, confit rabbit with aioli on croute and caramelised onions and brie bruschetta!
5. Charles Bar, Swatar
This sports bar (who are also known for their epic burgers), give out free appetisers (yes, free) with your drink. Generous much?!
6. Rocksalt, St Julian’s
Chicken liver pate, confit artichoke hearts, black Angus sliders and burrata with rocket and truffled arancini, are just some of the things on offer in the nibbles section of the menu!
