A Game Of Thrones: These Are Malta’s Best 7 Restaurant Restrooms

Article Featured Image

For some people out there, an experience at a restaurant is about way more than just the food. From getting value for your money to finding a pet-friendly restaurant, different people are going to want different things out of their dining experience. And for some people, that’s the level of cleanliness and design beauty of the restaurant restrooms.

Thanks to this year’s Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants Awards, we now have an actual list of Maltese restaurant toilets. 2,368 diners participated in a detailed survey, and here are the top seven restaurants as far as their restrooms are concerned.

7. A Modo Mio

Valletta

Also voted as one of Malta’s most romantic restaurants, A Modo Mio seems to also be one of the best places to dash off to for a quick, fancy leak.

6. one80 Kitchen & Lounge

Mellieħa

This restaurant might be located all the way up in Mellieħa, but it’s food and its panorama namesake more than make up for the trip to the north. If that doesn’t, their restrooms might.

5. Bacchus

Mdina

A restaurant which has stood the test of time, Bacchus is in its fourth decade of operation. So many years later, the intimate atmosphere isn’t the only thing helping Bacchus top local lists.

4. San Andrea Restaurant

Rabat

A Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Rabat, San Andrea is located in the impressive Palazzo Castelletti.

Since opening its doors for the first time four years ago, San Andrea has been consistently rated as one of the best restaurants in Malta, and this year (and very interesting award) is no exception.

3. Capo Crudo

Valletta

There seems to be one thing that’s just as amazing as this seafront restaurant’s food and views, and yes – you guessed it.

2. Blue Elephant

St. Julian’s

One of Malta’s most prestigious restaurants for years now, this Hilton Thai restaurant goes an extra mile when it comes to everything from its dishes to its restaurant decor. And, of course, its restrooms.

1. districtfive

Birżebbuġa

This year’s impressive newcomer makes it to yet another list.

“We wanted to go one step further with our restrooms,” Districtfive’s managers told Lovin Malta. “We gave them the same level of attention to detail that restaurants normally give to their front of house.”

And it sure shows. Unique ceiling-mounted faucets with electronic triggers are standard in these restrooms, and each sink looks more like a luxurious basin. Add a full marble finish, and the end result is as impressive as they get.

The whole thing was the brainchild of I+A design, and yes; that also includes the rest of the restaurant. Clearly, the guys over at Interaction and Architecture really do know how to spice up an establishment!

“Clients frequently come up to us saying they were perplexed when first walking in to our restrooms, because they’re only used to seeing such restrooms in five-star hotels.”
