A New Vietnamese Street Food Truck Is Launching Tomorrow In Malta And It Looks Legit AF
Where there’s food, we’re excited. Especially if it’s exotic tastes coming to the island. And today, we’re very excited.
A new street food truck is launching in Malta tomorrow, and judging by the photos and the menu, we can say it looks really bloody legit.
Saigon promises to offer Vietnamese cuisine that is affordable, fresh, flavoursome and authentic. And here’s what the menu is looking like – enjoy!
Viet starters
Including shrimp summer rolls and chicken or pork skewers, all proper viet style.
Pho noodle soup
Vietnam’s national dish! Here you’ll find an aromatic beef noodle soup with steak, brisket, homemade meatballs and spring onions served with a side of fresh herbs, beansprouts, lime, chillies, coriander and pho sauce.
The clear beef broth is simmered for 12 hours.
Bahn mi
I can’t get enough of bahn mi, and Saigon’s look and sound delicious.
Expect crusty bread holding traditional ingredients such as homemade cold cuts (cha Lua or red pork belly), pate, lettuce, crunchy pickled carrots, daikon, schiraha-mayo and chillies. Topped with refreshing cucumbers and fresh herbs, for that extra level of taste.
Noodle bowls
Chicken, tofu or pork noodle bowls will be on offer featuring rice noodles, fresh greens, beansprouts, chillies, shallots, peanut and spring onion aioli.
Top it up with either a fish sauce or hoi sin peanut sauce.
Vietnamese coffee
If you’ve not had Vietnamese coffee before, you don’t know what you’re missing. It is very dessert-like and simply delicious!
To celebrate their first day, Saigon will be giving out free Viet coffee with every main tomorrow. Make sure you stalk their Facebook page to be updated on their location!
