A Swanky Maltese Fusion Eatery With Stunning Interiors Silently Opened In Mellieħa This Week
Mellieħa is known for its abundance of eateries loved by local and foreigners alike and there’s a new addition to add to the list.
This is The Prickly Pear
Whoever did the interior design on this one deserves a big hug, because it’s trendy and swanky as hell (without being pretentious), boasting bespoke blue leathers and suede furnishings.
The Prickly Pear is open all day long, from 9am until 11pm, and the menu is split into eight sections. You’ll find bakery good such as ftira (with egg, crispy bacon and sausage), baguettes with various fillings, along with good old pastizzi and pies.
Salads include breaded goat’s cheese and grilled calamari with sun-dried tomatoes. Pasta options include traditional rabbit spaghetti, macaroni with minced meat and more.
Mains include grilled chicken breast, a beef and Maltese sausage burger, fish specials and pork cutlets. We have high hopes for this place!
