Bring Your Own Wine To A €38 Daily-Changing Six-Course Menu: Buġibba Just Got A Fancy New Restaurant

Open kitchen, no freezer, no microwave... get ready for a brand new dining concept

Number Six quietly opened in Buġibba at the end of December 2018 and it's probably one of the most exciting restaurant openings we've recently seen. Prepare yourself for a brand new dining concept in Malta.

First of all, the restaurant offers a hefty six-course tasting menu at only €38 per head (yes, you read that correctly) which changes every single day. If you want a tasting menu with wine (three glasses), that's only an extra €7!

When I say a tasting menu, I mean it is practically six main courses per person. What is served depends completely on the seasonal ingredients and what they feel like cooking on the days, you'll definitely experience that air of mystery when dining.

Owners Antonio Martins Prosperi (an Architect from DeMicoli & Associates) and Gabriele Gargano told us that they do not believe in a confined kitchen, so they have an open kitchen where everyone is welcome to observe.

Speaking of kitchen, the restaurant does not have a microwave or freezer. There will never be warmed up food and the cooked dishes served will be from day to day.

Number Six allows you to bring one single bottle of wine for every group of four patrons minimum, and an additional bottle of wine for every additional group of four patrons. They're also working on acquiring the land to bring customers a valet service.

Exceptional art adorn the walls designed by Rune Bo Jakobsen (also an architect at DeMicoli & Associates) and the plan is to have pop-up exhibitions welcoming different artists to showcase their work (which customers can also buy).

This restaurant is genuinely a refreshing game-changer, bringing a brand new concept to Malta. The team are exceptionally passionate, and the kitchen team has been poached from all over the world.

Every person who walks through that door is guaranteed a top culinary journey from beginning to end.
