Love Maltese rabbit dishes but are currently based in London? Well, your time to shine – and salivate – is finally here… and it’s all thanks to a local legend behind some Pretty F*cking Good Toast.

Sticking to what has slowly become a delicious tradition, PFGT’s David Darmanin will be returning to where it all started four years ago; Hackney.

London is getting a mighty Maltese roast straight out of nanna‘s oven this Sunday!

Taking to The Empire Bar on Hackney’s Mare Street, the illustrious ‘toaster in chief’ will be bringing Malta’s legendary Sunday roast to London for another unforgettable lunch.

“Malta is known for its big heart, irreverent humour, weird English accents and rabbit roasts,” PFGT said on the event description. “And we’re bringing all of that to Hackney, with the addition of some serious live jazz acts.”

Going hard, the Mighty Maltese Roast is bringing an entire three-course meal, kicking off with the classic spaghetti biz-zalza tal-fenek. What follows is a mix of stuffat tal-fenek, patata l-forn, majjal, and qarabagħli mimli. In the organisers’ own words, attendees are in for a Sunday lunch “that leaves the entire fam in a food coma, with unbuckled belts, top trouser button undone and staring voidly at the telly with a limoncello at the ready.” In other words, actual heaven.

There’s even some dessert lined up just in case you somehow still have enough room, courtesy of larinġ, għeneb u karawett.

The immense feast is currently open for reservation, but booking early is advised to avoid disappointment. PFGT are known to completely sell out, so you just know this one’s going be a massive success. Tickets for the event – which kicks off this Sunday at noon – are going for £23.
