Easter week is finally here, and one of Malta’s biggest pastizzerias is celebrating it in style by creating an entirely new type of limited edition pastizzi: the figolla pastizz.

“We wanted to do something traditional, but at the same time break the mould a bit,” Vinu Muscat, owner of Sphinx Pastizzeria, told Lovin Malta, ahead of the launch of figolli pastizzi around the island.

Yep – you can finally combine the crunchy, flaky exterior of a pastizzi with the sweet almondy interior of a real figolla

The special pastizzi will be available at all Sphinx and Champ outlets around the island throughout the Easter holidays

They launch this Wednesday, the 17th of April, and will be available for a limited time only
