Easter week is finally here, and one of Malta's biggest pastizzerias is celebrating it in style by creating an entirely new type of limited edition pastizzi: the figolla pastizz.

"We wanted to do something traditional, but at the same time break the mould a bit," Vinu Muscat, owner of Sphinx Pastizzeria, told Lovin Malta, ahead of the launch of figolli pastizzi around the island.

Yep - you can finally combine the crunchy, flaky exterior of a pastizzi with the sweet almondy interior of a real figolla

Cute, aren't they?

The special pastizzi will be available at all Sphinx and Champ outlets around the island throughout the Easter holidays
