Join The Movement: The 19th Puttinu Good Friday Night Walk
The 19th edition of the Puttinu Good Friday Night Walk beckons once again, embracing the spirit of community and charity that Puttinu is known for.
This annual pilgrimage of compassion and solidarity has, over the years, grown into a much-anticipated event, bringing together hearts and steps in support of Puttinu Cares, a symbol of hope and positivity for families facing the daunting challenges of cancer.
A Night of Unity and Support
The event will start on the evening of Maundy Thursday, 28th March, and Good Friday, 29th March. Gathering at the Mellieha Parish Square (Pjazza tal-Mellieha) at the stroke of midnight, participants will embark on a 20 km journey, concluding at the historic Granaries (Fosos) in Floriana.
This pilgrimage, expected to span approximately four to five hours, is not just a walk but a manifestation of collective empathy and support.
Transportation Made Easy
In an effort to make participation seamless, free transport will be provided from the Granaries in Floriana to Mellieha before the walk, commencing at 8.30pm on Thursday, 28th March. It is crucial to note that this service is exclusive, with no affiliations to other paid transport services.
The organisers have arranged for transport availability both before and after the walk, ensuring a smooth experience for all participants.
New Online Registration System
This year introduces an innovative leap with a new online registration system, designed in collaboration with Puttinu Cares. This platform not only simplifies the registration process but also facilitates the booking of transport and the advance payment of donations.
A minimum donation of EUR 10 is requested, and higher contributions are warmly welcomed. Participants can also make group bookings, ensuring no one walks alone. Remember to print and present your booking confirmation on the day of the event.

More Than Just A Walk
As we prepare to lace up our walking shoes, let’s remember the essence of this event. The Puttinu Good Friday Night Walk is more than a fundraising activity; it’s a testament to the power of community, a journey of hope, and a step towards making a significant difference in the lives of those battling cancer. Last year’s participation and generosity set a remarkable precedent, which this year, they hope to surpass.
Let’s walk for those who fight, for the families that stand strong, and for a future where support and care walk hand in hand.
