‘Please Don’t Forget About Us’: With Two Weeks To Go, Beloved Paceville Ramen Restaurant Still Hasn’t Found A New Location Yet
Malta’s first traditional ramen restaurant – and one of the islands’ favourite Japanese eateries – has shared a heartbreaking post amidst its imminent closure… and with no new place to call home found yet, it’s asking its patrons not to forget about it.
“We will be closing in 14 days,” Ramen Ezo wrote last night, sharing an AI-generated poster and saying its final day of business will be Thursday 26th September. “Please don’t forget about us.”
Earlier this summer, the restaurant had told its followers that a “temporary closure” was coming sometime around mid-September ahead the lease for its Paceville location expiring by the end of the month. “Please come and enjoy our ramen once more before we close,” a statement had said, with another announcement last week setting the date and teasing a reopening at a new location soon.
However, it seems like whatever deal that may have been present could’ve fallen through, with Ramen Ezo now saying it “hasn’t found a new location yet”.
“If you know of any available properties, please let us know,” the restaurant finished its emotional post.

Frequently touted as one of the best places for authentic ramen in Malta, the eatery – which currently stands where the just-as-beloved Tokyo Fried House used to be in Paceville – has also become popular as a purveyor of all things Japanese, with the staff frequently participating in anime promotions and cosplaying events and selling popular shows’ figurines and merch at numerous cons around the island.
“We first opened as Tokyo Fried House in 2018, and since becoming Ramen EZO, we’ve had the pleasure of serving many customers,” the restaurant said in one of its posts last week. “The entire staff is deeply grateful for your support.”
