So Long And Thanks For All The ‘Zas! Pizza Hut Sliema To Close 30 Years After Becoming Malta’s Second-Ever Outlet

One of the islands’ most popular Pizza Hut outlets is closing its doors next week, a whole three decades after opening.
“We regret to announce that our Sliema outlet will be closing its doors on Saturday 30th September 2023,” Pizza Hut Malta wrote this morning. “We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued customers who have been an integral part of our journey in Sliema.”
Pizza Hut first arrived on Malta’s shores back in 1993, opening to long queues in St. Julian’s. Later that same year, the Sliema outlet opened, before Valletta and Fgura followed in 1995 and 1997.

Meanwhile, the beloved pizzeria’s outlets in St. Julian’s, and Msida’s University Campus Hub will not only continue operating as usual, but will also extend their delivery services to the Sliema area.
“While bidding farewell to our Sliema store, we are excited for the future and its opportunities,” the statement continued. “We are dedicated to a growing and enhancing the Pizza Hut brand; this strategic decision is a testament to that commitment. We believe this transition aligns perfectly with our strategy to elevate further and expand the Pizza Hut brand.”
