Thousands Of Maltese Pastizzi To Be Sold At United Arab Emirates Celebration
Malta’s fanciest pastizzi will be heading on one hell of an overseas adventure as Pastizzi Gourmet jets off to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
Invited by the Malta Arts Council, the fancy pastizzi (which have been made “in the thousands”) will be on sale for a week between the 4th and the 9th April. The occasion? Sharjah’s Heritage Day celebrations. While traditional Maltese pastizzi are made with lard, these are made instead with seed oils, and most are vegetarian.
Driving distance from the UAE’s most popular city Dubai, Sharjah will be celebrating their Heritage Days for a total of three weeks, and Marilu Vella and her gourmet treats aren’t the only Maltese exports travelling East.
