Hope for good food and successful young businesses in a post-COVID Malta has already appeared in Spinola… and it’s all thanks to a brand new pizzeria that reportedly looks as good as it tastes.

Amidst the pandemic panic and the prolonged closures of many businesses (including restaurants), Salumeria Gardens started operating on Saturday 9th May on a takeaway and delivery basis.

By last Friday, when the restaurant finally and cautiously opened its doors to some diners, mouthwatering photos of pizzas started filling Facebook feeds, with many hailing the new eatery’s pizzas as some of the best they’d ever tasted.

And hey, don’t take our word for it.

Brother-owners Pab & Max faced an uphill challenge opening amidst all this chaos… but they never lost sight of the awesome light and tasty pizzas at the end of the tunnel.

“It was hard, but it gave us the time to reinvent ourselves,” they told Lovin Malta days after finally opening Salumeria Gardens’ doors to diners.

“When your back is against a wall, then you can only go forward,” Pablo smiled, adding that even the latest uphill didn’t deter the brothers.

“Without a huge budget, you can really do some cool shit if you’re willing to be inventive,” he continued.

The duo have already found success in Valletta with their Salumeria on the corner of Strait Street and St. John. Having pioneered the popular Friday Sausage parties – which had started off in the capital city with their dear friend and Berlin-based DJ Mato, the brothers are going for a more chill vibe… but still including their amazing mix of patrons from Valletta.

Salumeria Gardens has been open to diners for just a couple of days, but the brothers are already teasing bigger plans for the photogenic eatery.

“We’ll soon be bringing Tanqueray Terrace to Malta too, so it’s definitely going to be a massive summer,” Pablo smiled.
“Tanqueray is a great brand, and we’re going to be setting up a beautiful terrace with a great vibe, thanks to our friends at M Demajo Wines & Spirits,” he finished, teasing what the finished product would look like. Bring it on!
Yep, the fabulous Tanqueray Terrace will soon be landing in Spinola!
