From Verdala To Kilimanjaro: A Luxurious Fundraising Brunch Is Coming To Buskett This Weekend
While many of us will be spending the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve on holiday or with our loved ones, one group of Maltese people will be climbing Africa’s tallest free-standing mountain for a good cause. And this Sunday, they’re going to be raising more funds during a fancy brunch in Malta’s presidential palace.
On December 2nd, the Kilimanjaro team will be organising a superb Sunday brunch within the palatial walls of Verdala Palace to help raise money for the 12th Kilimanjaro Challenge (KC12).
The gruelling challenge occurs between 24th – 31st December and involves 20 people from all walks of life climbing Tanzania’s 19,341 foot Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest free-standing mountain.
Guests during the fundraising brunch will indulge in a delectable selection of food, sparkling wine and will be given a guided tour of the palace and grounds led by the resident curator. Local star Kevin Paul Calleja will also be entertaining the guests throughout the morning.
The challenge over the past 11 years has proved to be a success, with €720,000 being raised altogether to fund projects in Kenya and Ethiopia.
These projects have included the construction of a school and convent in Ethiopia, a wing for a 3-in-1 project, a house hosting 100 physically disabled, deaf and blind children in Kenya, a clinic in Sakko and a kindergarten schools in three different areas of Ethiopia.
The Sunday Brunch event can be found on Facebook where tickets can also be purchased.
