Gorgeous Places You Can Get A Sunset Cocktail In Malta
Maltese summers are as gorgeous as they get, and if you throw in a sunset and a cocktail into the equation, you’ve got yourself an instant winner. Here are some of the best places to experience all of that in Malta this summer.
1. Merkanti Beach Club
This beach club at the Hilton Hotel has been consistently voted as one of the best places to relax by the pool with seaside views for nearly two decades now, and a couple of mouthwatering cocktails is Merkanti’s cherry on the cake.
Merkanti is coming back this summer for an After Work Special concept, and it’s set to be another great season.
2. Riviera Martinique
Għajn Tuffieħa has some of the most flawless sunset views on the island, so throw in a restaurant that opens till late and is just a couple of metres away from the sand, and you’ve got all you’ve ever wanted. Summer at the Riviera sees weekly sessions of ambient music and sunset cocktails every Tuesday, just in case you wanted another reason to try out one of Malta’s most loved beaches.
3. Baia Beach
Set in the beautiful North, Baia Beach Lido has it all, including views of Comino and Gozo! And while it is quite far away for most people, it’s definitely worth the drive up to Armier.
4. Bongo Nyah
This place has some of the most exquisite cocktails in all of Malta (just look at the Tiramisu Dessert Cocktail!). And with stunning sunset views of Marsascala, this place is one of the South’s gems.
5. Fra Ben
Situated right by the edge of Saint Paul’s Bay, metres away from the sea with an unobstructed view of the Mediterranean, this bar and restaurant has stood the test of time. Loved by a wide variety of scenes, Fra Ben has seen loads of parties
6. Ray’s Lido
Little Armier’s own little piece of heaven. The only problem you’ll have at Ray’s Lido is not ditching your cocktail to jump off the edge onto the inviting sea… although we’re not really counting that as a problem.
7. The Cliffs
Dingli is consistently voted one of the most romantic places in Malta for sunsets, so a place here is sure to make the list. There’s a cocktail you can get here which is literally called Dingli Cliffs, and with cute little Filfla just chilling on the horizon, this is as summery as it gets without being on a beach.
8. One80
This lounge at Mellieħa’s Half Way Inn got its name from the outstanding 180 degree views it commands, so you can only imagine what sunset from the terrace is going to look like. Pair that with some genuine Mediterranean cuisine, and you’ve got your hands on a winner.
9. Gleneagles Bar
Gleneagles is one of the first bars you’ll see when you land in Gozo, and it’s also one of the island’s most loved. Perfect as the first or last stop before moving jumping islands.

10. Cafe Del Mar
Infinity pool, big parties, and all the cocktails you could ever hope for. Cafe Del Mar isn’t a national favourite for nothing.
