Who doesn’t love a good margarita?

National Margarita Day is celebrated in the US, but countries are a man-made concept, so we can definitely join in the celebration and indulge in these delicious drinks all night long.

After all, when life gives you limes, make margaritas.

Here are five top spots to get a margarita around the island:

1. ¡La Luz! Sliema Malta

¡La Luz! is an uber cool little nook of a Mexican cocktail bar – and psst – they also specialise in banging margaritas. Their tacos, tequila and great staff guarantee you a good night out. Try out their iconic Coño Margarita – sweet, savoury and slightly spicy.

2. Ginzcal, Valletta

Another Mexican gem is Ginzcal – a gorgeous and authentic corner cocktail bar in the heart of Valletta. Their mezcal cocktails are unbeatable in Valletta – and – if you’re daring – try some dried spiced insects for a nice protein snack on the side.

3. Juuls, St. Julians

This St. Julian’s reggae bar is a great place to chill out sipping and smiling seaside. Their margaritas can fuel your whole night – and if you’re still going when the bar closes, Paceville is closer than you can throw your cocktail glass.

4. Nine Lives, Qawra

If you’re up North, head to the beach bar Nine Lives in Qawra. Inspired by the ways of the cat, it’s a perfect place to unwind and take in the super views and vibes. Sipping one of their passion fruit or strawberry margs, of course.

5. Zion Bar, Marsaskala

The self-proclaimed “chillest bar in Malta” is serving up some delicious fruit margaritas in the South, which you can enjoy with their chill-out playlists and luscious green gardens.

Margarita Day comes only once a year, so get out there this Hump Day and celebrate.

If not, save this list for future margarita reference. Bottoms up!

Happy Margarita Day!
