Teaming up for Global Vegetarian Awareness month, Hard Rock is launching Veggie Month all across the globe. Returning to Malta for its third edition, it promises to provide locally-sourced eco-friendly recipes in the hopes of attracting vegetarian customers and even introducing the notion of all-vegetarian dishes to non-vegetarians.

Lovin Malta sat down with Hard Rock to try out their new Veggie menu, which will be available next week in the Baystreet and Valletta outlets. The first thing we got to try was the newly-inaugurated range of vegetarian alcoholic cocktails.

Branded as Bold Sips, the five new drinks come with their own over-the-top namesake and a collectible mason jar, making them the perfect self-indulgent purchase for your guilty basic needs.

Bold Sips boldest choice by far is the Citrus Mary (the way spicier cousin to the Bloody Mary) although we were particularly smitten with the Mule Over My Rosemary that was both refreshing and pretty to look at, complete with its own rosemary sprig and kick watermelon freshness.

Of course, we can’t forget the amazing selection of vegetarian meals handpicked by Hard Rock International, of which six will be available throughout Veggie Month. We reached for third and fourth helpings of the amazing Quinoa and Arugula Salad, which somehow managed to blend the best of summer salads with an autumn twist, and were pleasantly surprised by the Chickpea Burger which includes redskin potato and spinach that mesh into a mouthwatering taste.

Other notable mentions included the Sweet Potato With Black Bean Tacos topped off with guacamole to create an instant favourite.

Past meals to feature in Hard Rock’s Veggie Month have become regular menu options, including Cauliflower Wings from last year; asked whether this would be the case this year, Hard Rock has said it is open to the possibility but cannot confirm at present.

In addition, at a patrons’ request, vegetarian meals will come with the added vegan option where possible.
