Kinder Pastizzi, Truffle Pizza Dough, And All The Cereals: San Ġwann’s Newest Restaurant Will Blow Your Mind
Two of Malta’s most popular food brands are about to open up a restaurant in San Ġwann that will have your Instagram – and tummy – happier than ever.
Daniel Grech, the man behind some of Malta’s favourite restaurants, has teamed up with Vinu Muscat of Sphinx pastizzeria to launch Shakes n’ Bakes – your one-stop-shop for all things over the top.
The duo teased their hungry fans online recently with a photo of the soon-to-be-opened restaurant. They haven’t released their menu yet, but we do know a few of the things that are planned for the menu.
They’ll be offering pizza with ingredients in the dough itself
In what might be a first for Maltese pizza, Shakes n’ Bakes will be making pizzas with actual flavours cooked into the dough itself. Customers will be able to select what type of pizza dough they’d like while ordering.
Get ready for rare and special flavour profiles like guanciale pizza dough and truffle pizza dough – and that’s just to start with.
They have a seriously special bakes section
The duo are taking everything that Sphinx and Daniel Grech are known for and levelling up. And how are they doing that?
By creating things like Kinder pastizzi.
Nutella pastizzi are so 2017 anyway.
Everything’s still under wraps, but we do know that there will be a major focus on crepes as well, both the savoury and sweet kinds, and they’ll be creating donuts in-house with over 40 different sweets to choose from as toppings.
And, of course, some “colourful, rich and bright” milkshakes
Shakes n’ Bakes, as the name implies, takes their shakes seriously. The team is promising a new take on shakes – warm shakes, just in time for winter.
They’ll be offering things like a Sticky Toffee Pudding Shake, Bailey’s Shake, and a Lindt Shake, and many more.
They’ll even have a dedicated “cereal killer” section
Taking a cue from the infamous breakfast eatery in London, Shakes n’ Bakes will have an entire part of the restaurant focused cereals, cereal shakes, and even cereal crepes.
An exact opening date for Shakes n’ Bakes hasn’t been given yet, but you can expect it to open over the next month or two in Naxxar Road, San Ġwann.
