‘Malta Might Not Be Ready’: Innovative Chef Launches Game-Changing Audiovisual Gourmet Dining Experience
A leading Maltese chef known for dining in the sky, opening bottles of champagne with a Napoleonic sword and other extravagant moments has just opened a 360-degree dining experience – and it features everything from impressive projectors and sound effects to his beloved gourmet food.
Marvin Gauci recently launched Uncensored, an audiovisual dining experience hidden away in Caviar&Bull’s restaurant located in the Corinthia Hotel in Budapest.
The cooking at Uncensored is described as “experimental, multi-sensory cooking” with the goal of using food to take the diner around the world – the thing is, he isn’t exactly sure Malta is ready for such a concept.
“The cooking at Uncensored is characterized by dynamic techniques, distinctive ingredients and situated around passion,” the restaurant says.
“Our chefs evolve the ordinary through innovation and cultural interaction. This tasty journey takes you around the world by ignoring the greatness of distance and impossibles. Experience various cultures’ finest aspect all in one degustation and let us blow your mind.”
Diners sit in a darkened room as projectors showcase some of the highlights of the world, from Paris to Japan to the Wild West… and sometimes even the moon.
As Uncensored takes the diner around the world, gourmet food from the region is brought out to truly transport the senses.
With the Budapest edition already garnering rave reviews after being launched two months ago, Gauci wants to open more Uncensored restaurants around the world.
However, until then, diners can literally travel around the world in eight dishes – and they may even be able to open a bottle of Prosecco using a sword if they ask nicely.
