Malta’s Food Porn Master Is About To Take Pancakes To A Whole New Level
There are few foods that are as special as pancakes. Warm and fuzzy, they are the food equivalent of a bear hug, with Nutella and whipped cream and all kinds of tasty stuff thrown on top of that bear hug for maximum comfort overload.
Malta offers some incredible dessert places, creperies, and ice-cream spots – but it is time for Malta to get it’s first official Pancake House.
That’s right – a whole building dedicated to the fluffiest foodstuff known to mankind, and it’s all courtesy of someone who’s already established himself as a Pancake Master.
Pancake House by Shoreditch will be bringing all the pancakes to Malta. Brought to you by Daniel Grech, the mastermind behind Shoreditch’s epic dishes, this place is going to have more pancakes than Martha Stewart and Nancy tal-Kċina combined.
“This will be the first official pancake house in Malta, and we will have sweet, savoury, gluten-free, lactose-free pancakes, and so much more,” Daniel Grech told Lovin Malta. “It’s going to be right next door to Shoreditch, and you’ll be able to get the same feel as Shoreditch, but with a new concept.”
Pancake House is going to take dessert to the next level. “And seeing as the actual Shoreditch is in East London, we’ll be trying to bring a proper British feel in Malta at the restaurant,” said Daniel.
Of course, Shoreditch is famed for their insane take on desserts, with tasty AF-looking and tasting red velvet and Kinder pancakes. But it won’t only be dessert pancakes on offer at Pancake House – Daniel is especially excited about the savoury pancakes.
The savoury menu will include cool takes on the classic pancake such as duck pancake, a burrata and bresaola pancake, a salmon pancake, and a short rib pancake.
Yes, you read that right – a short rib pancake.
“I always loved pancakes as a kid, and after we started the Kinder pancakes at Shoreditch I just went crazy about them…I mean, the ideas you can come up with using a pancake…” he trails off.
Daniel says that Pancake House will be open in about five months, which means you’ve got five months to work out hard to get your body into shape, because as Daniel himself says after going through his new pancake menu, “at this rate, I’m gonna be chubby forever.”
