Make Meat Great Again! Maltese Chef Trains With Netflix Chef Francis Mallmann In Patagonian Barbecue Culinary School
Rafel Sammut, the chef behind Briju, the Pulled Meat Co. and last week’s lavish Esquire Townhouse dinner, has been in Patagonia learning the best tricks of the barbecue trade with top Netflix chef Francis Mallmann – host of hit culinary show, Chef’s Table.
Mallmann has barbecued for the likes of David Beckham and the King of Spain, and is known for quoting poetry at will.
Mallmann is Argentina’s most famous culinary export, famed for his open-fire cooking and empire of multiple restaurants in Mendoza, Buenos Aires, Uruguay, Miami, Chile, and France. Could we be seeing his menus hitting Malta’s shores any time soon?
He currently runs what could be called a culinary school on a remote island in the Patagonia region of South America where he divvies up on the best ways to approach everyone’s favourite method of cooking meat, and with Rafel now having taken lessons from the best, we hope to see the grill game in Malta heat up to the next notch.
