Malta’s Newest Food Truck Will Be Serving Everything On A Stick

If there’s one thing Maltese people love more than food, it’s a food truck. Bringing some of the most delicious snacks right next to your daily hang is as good as it gets, and 2018 is already looking great, with a new food truck being teased this week.

Say hello to The Tater Truck

The newest food truck on the block, The Tater Truck has been the lifelong dream of 25-year-old graduate Simon Mallia.

“I was mostly inspired by the typical street food in Amsterdam,” Simon told Lovin Malta. “That city is perfect for fulfilling your daily munchies and appetite, and I wanted to bring that feeling to Malta.”

The idea behind The Tater Truck is simple; Simon believes that anything can be sold on a stick, and that’s exactly what he wants to do. “We’ll have anything from waffles to ravioli, all on a stick. And yes, of course we’ll have potatoes.”

In a quick video uploaded to a newly-opened Instagram page, The Tater Truck teased what their potato on a stick would look like, and it looks delicious.

And yes, you heard that right; waffles on a stick. We even got a little sneak peak of what that would look like in all of its glory.

Simon graduated from University three years ago, but he still keeps the institution close to his heart. “The idea of this food truck is not to have a fixed place, but we will definitely be targeting schools in particular. University and colleges, mainly,” he told Lovin Malta.

One of Simon’s friends, Keith ‘Ciki’ Azzopardi, helped with the design of the truck, adding an extra layer of cheekiness to the whole thing.

The Tater Truck does not have an official launch date, but Simon hopes it will be sometime in the beginning of 2018.
