Maltese Confectioner Invites Customers To Take Part In #WaveOfChange In Exchange For Free Sweets

The #WaveOfChange challenge is still rolling its course around Malta and Gozo, with politicians and celebrities all joining forces to help clean up the island. The latest party to jump on the bandwagon is local international confectionery importer, Miss Ellen’s.

Miss Ellen’s own Travelling Treats van heads to a different spot on the island every day.

The confectionery’s schedule is posted on the store’s Instagram every week, so you never have an excuse to miss them when they’re in your neck of the woods. And now that they’re offering free sweets, there’s literally no reason not to break into a sprint the next time you see the van.

Sarah, who runs the store independently, recently took part in the Run the #WaveOfChange challenge that took place last April, and saw hundreds of athletes and amateurs conquer the island’s 126km coastline to raise awareness for the pollution issues Malta is currently facing.

Anyone who completes the #WaveOfChange challenge by picking up three items of litter and placing it in the bin provided by Henri will be gifted a treat bag for their service. So, if a free bag of sweets is just what you need, make sure to find out this week’s schedule and help keep the island clean, one sugar rush at a time.

“The purpose is obvious,” Sarah told us. Since running the marathon, she’s become much more conscious about rubbish on the streets. “I’ll be honest, sometimes I see it, walk past it and stop myself and go back and pick it up.”

Hoping to create even more awareness by sharing the challenge online, Miss Ellen’s wants to encourage others to do the same. And who doesn’t love free sweets?
