New Maltese Supermarket Offers Awesome Contraption For Elderly Shoppers

The newly-opened Park Towers Supermarket in St. Julian’s has already been making waves for its unique services, but the Spinola supermarket is now being praised for a new incentive.

In a photo which was sent to Lovin Malta over the weekend, a new form of trolley can be seen at the entrance, and it’s perfect for elderly shoppers.

The trolley, which is shorter than usual models, also seems to double as a walker thanks to its elongated and angled handles. What’s more, it can also hold a weight of over 100 kilos, providing essential help to anyone with mobility problems. The trolley also comes with a system which automatically stops it in its tracks if it loses control to avoid any accidents.

The greatest tiny addition, however, is on the side of the trolley. An extending magnifying glass is there to help anyone who might have difficulties in reading any fine print on packets or shopping lists.

With so many Maltese supermarkets offering great incentives like online shopping, here’s hoping more businesses take up this awesome idea. Going to the supermarket can be a stressful experience for people who have difficulties walking reading out important information like expiry dates, so something like this stands to help way more people than Malta’s elderly population.
