New Spinola Restaurant To Treat St Patrick’s Day Revellers To Fancy Irish Comfort Food
Heading down to Spinola for St Patrick’s Day this Saturday? If you plan to go the whole hog and celebrate from morning till midnight, then at one point you are going to get hungry.
And if you feel like tickling your tastebuds with some gourmet comfort food that will keep you in the spirit of St Patrick’s, then Manouche – the new craft bakery and bistro at Spinola Park – is offering up an entire menu of St. Patrick’s Day specials at affordable prices, from noon till midnight.
The highlight of the menu is the traditional Irish breakfast; black pudding, a local sausage patty, streaky bacon, sautéed garlic mushrooms, baked beans doused in Guinness and maple syrup, and toast (organic and wholemeal so you can at least pretend to be eating healthily).
Other dishes on offer are chicken fried in whiskey and glazed in Gozitan honey, pork sausage and black pudding pie, braised beef rib and Stilton pie, and poutine with Guinness-braised pork cheeks and smoked Irish cheddar.
The menu is also vegetarian-friendly, with dishes such as sweet potato poutine, hay-smoked brie baguettes and sourdough bread with Irish cheddar to dig your teeth into. And if you want to drink something Irish but a bit more elegant than a Guinness, you can always indulge in a green shandy, a green mimosa, a St Patrick’s martini or a bloody Green Mary.
If you’re not partaking in the St Patrick’s celebrations, then don’t worry – Manouche’s regular menu will also be available on the day.
