Sometimes the most unusual combinations can make for the best recipes.

Neil Bugeja is a pharmacist by profession but it’s his love for chemistry and cooking that has led to his reputation for being one helluva chef.

The foodie pharmacist is the proud owner of one appetising Instagram account Pharmaceat and the dishes he uploads on there is not what we’d expect from someone who works with medicine.

“I find that there is a strong link between chemistry and cooking – particularly baking,” Neil told Lovin Malta. It doesn’t take a medical professional to realise that Bugeja’s passion for the culinary world is in his DNA.

1. Baking is Neil’s forte and we can see why…

A man of academics, Bugeja always relies on methodology to craft his fine work and has amassed a vast collection of cookbooks in the process.

“Some of my friends say I have an unhealthy obsession with cookbooks but I suppose none of them complain when the food comes along!”

And we wouldn’t complain either Neil, because the dishes look absolutely exquisite and we’re envious of anyone who gets to try these culinary experiments.
