Pride Pastizzi! Maltese Pastizzeria Rolls Out Four New, Colourful LGBT-Friendly Fillings
It’s officially Pride Week in Malta, and to celebrate, Sphinx Pastizzeria has just rolled out not one, not two, but four new and very colourful pastizzi – and they really are something special.
Kiwi pastizzi (green), strawberry pastizzi (red), melon pastizzi (yellow) and blueberry pastizzi (blue) now exist and will be available all over Malta from this Thursday onwards.
The new pastizzi are a collaboration between Sphinx Pastizzeria, Lollipop, Malta’s foremost gay event promoters, as well as Lovin Malta, as part of #LovinLollipop’s Pride campaign.
Each new filling is a mixture of the fruit or berry, and lamington cakes.
Sphinx Pastizzeria head Vinu Muscat said the company wanted to mark the important annual celebration, both because they believe in the philosophy behind Pride, as well as due to the fact that Vinu’s sister is lesbian herself and LGBT rights is an issue close to his family.
In a public post on Facebook announcing the good news, Lollipop called the new inventions ‘scrumptious, sweet treats’
We’ve barely gotten over the awesomeness that is the recent Maltese sausage and ?bejna pastizzi, but there’s just no stopping the creative minds over at Sphinx pastizzeria.
