Malta’s epic breakfast/brunch scene has been multiplied by six following the launch of Carob Tree’s new morning menus!
Starting from tomorrow (Saturday 2nd March), six eateries from this trendy food court in St Julian’s will be serving brunch from 9am-11.30am on weekends and public holidays. Not only that, but some of the menus will also include their take on the full English breakfast.
Here’s a run-down of what to expect from the food court’s beloved eateries.
TukTuk’s menu includes their version of an English breakfast featuring egg bhurji, char-striped smoky bacon, pork sausages, masala baked beans, grilled field mushrooms, grilled tomato and toasted buns.
Guests can also tuck in to a masala omelette (three-egg omelette with chopped onions, tomatoes, chillies and coriander), a sausage, bacon and egg naanwich, a vegan uttapam (rice and lentil mini pancakes topped with onions, tomatoes, green peppers and coriander) and Indian style scramble eggs with sautéed chopped onions, chillies and spices.
Mamma mia! Marrobio’s menu features a Full Italian (avocado, roasted tomato, poached egg in Hollandaise sauce on soft fried dough served with roasted bacon and Sicilian sausage). Nutella rolls will also be on the menu. Yes, I repeat, Nutella rolls.
A bagel breakfast (bacon, egg, cream cheese), a breakfast wrap, a breakfast baguette and a breakfast steak sandwich is what you can expect from this joint.
Oh, and a full English breakfast with sausage, bacon, egg, baked beans, hash browns, grilled tomato and fried egg.
4. Genki Asian Cafe
Wrap your lips around Genki’s breakfast board filled with smoked salmon, poached eggs, smoked bacon, grilled tofu and basil dressing.
Avocado lovers rejoice; they’ll be serving two slices of buttered toast topped with mashed avo and two fried or poached eggs.
How about a breakfast tartare to start your day?
Featuring raw salmon, tuna and avocado. Fancy AF.
6. Lot 61
This award-winning coffee joint will be dishing out croissants, muffins and different flavoured loafs such as chocolate, banana and carrot.
