Once upon a time, Malta had a bustling train station in Rabat.

Now, that historic train station has been converted into a restaurant serving some of the best pancakes and breakfasts on the island, all in a fun and funky way.

L-Istazzjon Bar and Kitchen in Rabat is housed in the incredible Rabat Train Station – and the ambience couldn’t be better.

Refurbished to modernity while keeping the original aspects intact, the restaurant is surrounded by the rolling green hills of Rabat.

A family-run restaurant, the kitchen is captained by head chef Niki Borg.

And it is chef Niki’s unique tastes and sensibilities that led to the creation of all these exciting dishes

But it is their pancakes and cakes in a pan that have people coming back time and time again

As well as their entire breakfast in a pan

Their homemade Yorkshire pudding soaks up all the goodness and keeps everything snug as bug in a rug.

Their meat dishes go down a treat with the carnivore crowd…

And they offer some beautiful charcuterie platters to share

As well as some tasty vegetarian options

You can wash everything down with one of their very original milkshakes

Whether you want good food in a peaceful, idyllic environment, or just walk to indulge in your favourite dish in a pan, the next station you’ll be stopping at might just be L-Istazzjon.
