The awards were handed out during a ceremony yesterday at the Excelsior Hotel.
Ristorante La Vela was also awarded for Best Food, Best Ambience, Best Service and Commended Wine List for its original selection of Italian wines.
Located in the gardens of Pieta adjacent to the yacht marina, Ristorante La Vela is described by the guide as a “hidden jewel on the water’s edge”.
The guide recommends the antipasto di pesce crudo e cotto, which consists of seven different types of seafood. Spaghetti with sea urchins and ravioli with grouper are also highly recommended, as is the cannolo scomposto for dessert.
Patrons should expect to spend at least €58 per person. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and on Sunday evening.
