Very First Valletta Local Food Festival Happening This October
Summer in Malta is known for daily feasts and events but as winter approaches we seem to buckle down and have less to do.
Nothing beats a day of food and drink in our beautiful capital city and that’s exactly what we have to look forward to this October.
Celebrating Maltese food, the Valletta Local Food Festival will have all our favourties. The legendary majjal il-forn, imqaret, torti, krustini, qagħaq tal-għasel and ġbejniet. Maltese wine and beer will also be there to wash down the delicious food.
All attendees will have the opportunity to taste top-level food cooked by professional chefs as well as local wine, beer and liqueurs, to music by established local singers.
The Valletta Local Food Festival will take place from the 20th till 22nd October from 7:30pm. It will be held at the Valletta Design Cluster, which was an abandoned building, and is today a recently refurbished state-of-the-art venue.
“The main goal remains to foster in people’s lives the awareness and appreciation for Maltese identity and culture, and to embrace the aspects which make us what we are,” Minister for National Heritage Owen Bonnici said.
The Valletta Local Food Festival is supported by the Malta Tourism Authority. For more information about The Valletta Local Food Festival visit the Valletta Cultural Agency.
