LA-based Instagram chef Albert Can Cook has taken on a Maltese cuisine, recreating the classic ricotta pastizz.
After receiving multiple requests from one dedicated Maltese person @zhennelly_07, Albert started his video saying he had been asked to make the dish for a whole year.
The 35-year-old culinary celeb – who boasts an insane following of 1.8 million people on Instagram – used his skills to conjure up his recreation of pastizzi, posting to Instagram and TikTok. In just 16 hours, he’s already amassed over 720,000 views… despite seemingly using a different kind of pastry from the traditional pastizzi we all know and love.
Albert confirmed he understands the hype for the traditional Maltese snack, captioning his video with “I kinda know why”.
