Humanity has conquered a whole new frontier

First there was the cronut. Then, there was the scuffin. And then there were like, a whole other list of dessert monstrosities to make sure that the Western world stays obese. 

But now a pastry shop in Queens, New York, have created what could possibly be the most decadent of them all - and just in time for Carnival as well.

The donnoli is a cannoli and donut hybrid. 

Let that sentence sink in, just like the calories will sink into your fat tissue when you get around to eating this.

The dessert comes in a variety of fillings and flavours, from the Oreo donnoli to the candied bacon donnoli. 

And it's not even that hard to make really. Just roll some dough around a stick, get them in the deep frier, coat in sugar and glaze, and then top them with whatever your heart desires.

From chocolate to candy to cereals to meats, the donnoli can and will become the sweet base for whatever insanity you can dream up.
