Your fast food options in Malta are about to expand drastically as Burger King Malta announces its first 100% vegetarian burger – and it actually looks awesome.

“After receiving requests for a vegetarian product and always having our customers at heart, Burger King Malta launched the Veggie Bean Burger on the 1st of May,” Ivan Cardona, franchise manager of Burger King, told Lovin Malta.

The Veggie Bean Burger is a meatless burger made with real vegetables and wholesome grains, featuring a tasty Veggie Patty topped with fresh-cut lettuce, tomatoes, BK-certified vegetarian cheese, ketchup and vegetarian mayo, all served on a toasted sesame seed bun.

However, BK are keen to say the new roll is not just for vegetarians

“The Veggie Bean Burger is not just for vegetarians – it’s an option for anyone wanting an alternative burger made with red kidney beans, vegetables and spices coated with crispy herb breadcrumbs,” Cardona pointed out. “The incredibly tasty Veggie Patty, topped with freshly-cut lettuce, juicy tomatoes, cheese, ketchup and mayo and served on a toasted sesame seed bun is sure to be a hit with Burger King’s customers.”

“We are very excited to launch the Veggie Bean Burger and to respond to the market by introducing a vegetarian product. We strongly believe that Burger King should be a brand that everybody can enjoy, and the launch of this product is key to this” he ended.

Positive online reviews of the burger have already started rolling in, with customers reacting well to the vegetarian option.

Some people have even pointed out that if you ask for the vegetarian cheese and mayo to be removed, you’ll actually have a 100% vegan-friendly burger, which is awesome – though Burger King Malta have pointed out that the patties and buns are made in a factory containing dairy, so there’s always a chance for cross-contamination, and have advised against this option if you have a serious allergy.

The Veggie Bean Burger can be purchased in any Burger King Malta outlets.
