10% Of Gozitans Hold Gun Licenses, Twice The Rate in Malta
10% of Gozo residents hold a firearm licence, nearly double the 5.4% in Malta, according to the National Statistics office.
These findings are part of a skills survey by the National Statistics Office, which detailed various licences held by Maltese and Gozitan residents.

The survey also explored language proficiency. Among people aged 15-64, people are most proficient in English (96%), followed by Maltese (90.4%), and then Italian (62%). Additionally, languages like French, Spanish, German, and Arabic are significant in Malta, reflecting the country’s linguistic diversity, with over 30 languages identified in the study.
It was revealed that 45.7% of the population aged 15-64 are trilingual, with over 90% being Maltese. Women in this age group are more likely to be proficient in three or more languages, with 74.1% of females compared to 68.8% of males.
