Gozo Ferry Traffic Nears Two Million Vehicles In 2024
The number of vehicles traveling between Malta and Gozo is approaching two million for 2024, with 1,929,625 vehicles recorded by November alone.
This marks a significant increase compared to previous years, reflecting a growing interest in Gozo, often serving as a getaway for many.
The information was revealed by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri while he was answering a parliamentary question tabled by PN MP Ivan Castillo.
In 2020, 1,552,138 vehicles made the crossing, a number that rose to 1,727,629 in 2021. By 2022, the figure climbed to 1,960,815, and in 2023, a new milestone was reached with 2,041,478 vehicles.
The 2024 figures, which exclude December, are already set to challenge last year’s record.
The steady growth over the past five years highlights the essential role the Gozo Channel Ferry plays in supporting the mobility of residents, businesses, and tourists.
