Gozo Getaway: Eat, Dine, Sleep And Dive

Article Featured Image

Going up to Gozo for a well-deserved break is something Maltese residents and tourists love to do. With sparkling blue seas, unmissable architecture and a feeling of serenity, a Gozo getaway is the perfect solution to escape from the hustle and bustle of life.

Getting away from it all sounds amazing, but how do you fill up those free days?

Follow along as we help you map out the perfect way to spend a whole weekend in Gozo without ever leaving Xlendi. Expect sunny days and seaside nights as that’s what Gozo is all about.

Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and when you’re on holiday you can afford to indulge yourself. So, make sure you stop by Front restaurant to get your English breakfast fix. Even if you’re vegan or vegetarian, they have dishes that cater for you.

Go for a walk

After you’ve eaten breakfast, go for a walk up the iconic stairway to heaven steps. The journey might not be the easiest, but moving will help you digest your food better and the view from up there is totally worth it.

Have a swim

Once you’ve reached the top of the stairs and appreciated the view, a dip in the sea sounds appropriate. Lay down your beach towel and slather on some sunblock as the sea is calling.

After you’ve spent some time splashing around in the sea, it’s time for lunch!

No matter if you like to eat lunch late, or not at all, this is the perfect time to head back to Front Bar and grab some lunch or even a drink or two. Serving up cocktails and good vibes throughout the day, if you want to take a break from the sun, Front Bar remains open all day.

Relax in your gorgeous room

Encapsulating the soul of Gozo while modernising some aspects of it, the Ulysses accommodation is modern yet warm. Their newly refurbished premises are found right at the heart of Xlendi Bay, so you’re always a stone’s throw away from the beach.

Rooms or even an entire studio or apartment can be rented out, so no matter if you get away to Gozo with your partner, some friends, or just alone, you’ll have the perfect place to stay.

New Day, New Adventures

You know what they say, Sunday is funday, and the activities lined up are unmissable. Make sure you eat something in the morning as you’ll need to be alert to understand everything you need to know before you go scuba diving!

Offering its services to beginners, novices and expert divers alike, Ritual Dive will go at your pace. Using top of the range equipment and having an on-site dedicated training pool, you won’t enter the sea without being completely confident.

If diving sounds a bit too much for you, Ritual Dive also offer SUP and snorkelling tours, you can experience the wonders of the sea without an air tank.

Finish the weekend off with a party

There’s no other way to finish off a Gozo getaway weekend than by having a few drinks and listening to some funky tunes. With live music events happening all the time at Front Bar – DJs, solo artists, and bands will help you wrap up the weekend.

The official Front Bar re-launch party is happening on the 3rd June, so if you were thinking about heading up to Gozo for a holiday, then now is the time!

Expect four and half hours filled with unique sounds and experimental sets. There’s no better way to welcome the summer months than by partying all night long, and that’s exactly what’s going on in Gozo.

Pack your bags and grab your friends as Gozo is calling. Head on up to Xlendi and spend the day lounging around by the sea, having a drink or two and getting down with it on the dancefloor.
