‘People Shouldn’t Have To Get Hurt For Something To Change’: Alex Borg Appeals For Repairs To Dangerous Gozo Road

Nationalist Party MP Alex Borg has repeated a call for something to be done about conditions of “imminent danger” on a busy street in Rabat, Gozo.

The street is lined with heavy concrete bollards, which could be extremely dangerous to any car forced to swerve on the narrow street.

A wall at the end of the street is also showing signs of impending collapse, which could become even more likely if the weather worsens once again.

Borg said that since he first brought the issue to parliament’s attention a month ago, very little has changed. He tagged the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri in this post.

This latest appeal about dangerous roadside conditions came about after Borg received “several complaints that nothing has been done, other than the painting of two yellow lines”.

“I don’t think that people should have to get hurt in order for something to change,” said Borg.

Borg has recently made public appeals intended to increase pressure on the police force to make Gozo safer for its residents.

He added that the conditions have likely worsened as a result of the recent storm Helios – which caused structural damage to properties across the Maltese islands.
