Gozo’s Ċittadella is one of 15 finalists from across Europe competing for the top spot at the Regiostars 2022 Awards. This is a prestigious EU award that acknowledges innovative projects around different sites in Europe, aimed at inspiring other regions around the bloc.

This is the second time the Ċittadella in Gozo was a runner-up in these awards, following its nomination in 2018 in the ‘Investing in Cultural Heritage’ category.
2022 is also a special year for the Regiostars awards, as the contest is celebrating 15 years since its inception in 2008. The 15 finalists for this year’s awards were chosen among finalists and winners of past editions, and journalists were asked to create short documentaries about what went on with each project since its last nomination.
The winning project will be awarded during a ceremony later in November in Evora, Portugal.
