You Couldn’t Make It Up: Maltese Store’s Unfortunate Facade Makes It To Global Liverpool Fan Page
Liverpool FC fans have had plenty to smile about over the last 24 hours, and a Maltese store’s facade is now on their radar.
An eagle-eyed Maltese Liverpool spotted the shopfront of the Old Trafford Store in Ħamrun promoting ‘7Up’, which of course has taken on a whole new meaning since last night’s 7-0 drubbing.
The Liverpool Way, an international fan page with over 200,000 followers, shared his photo and joked that the Maltese Reds must have known about the result in advance.
“Love Malta, love the sign,” one Liverpool fan commented, while others said they want to go on holiday there now.
If the Old Trafford store owner is indeed a Manchester United fan, it’s unlikely they were expecting last night’s result at Anfield. Not only was it Manchester United’s worst-ever result since 1931 but it was delivered by a Liverpool side which has been far from their best this season.
In an extra cherry on the cake for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah’s two goals saw him break a major record, surpassing Robbie Fowler as the club’s all-time top Premier League scorer.
