Air Malta Cancels More Flights Due To Ongoing Catania Airport Fire Disruptions

Air Malta, has been forced to cancel multiple scheduled flights from Malta to the Sicilian city of Catania once again as disruptions continue at Catania Airport following a fire incident at one of its terminals.

The recent cancellations affect six flights scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The specific flights impacted include:

1st August KM644 Malta to Catania departing at 3.05pm; 1st August KM645 Catania to Malta departing at 4.30pm; 1st August KM642 Malta to Catania departing at 10.00pm; 1st August KM643 Catania to Malta departing at 11.25pm; 2nd August KM642 Malta to Catania departing at 10.00pm; 2nd August KM643 Catania to Malta departing at 11.25pm.

The airline was directed to cancel these flights due to the continuous disruptions caused by the terminal fire at Catania Airport. This series of cancellations is part of the ongoing repercussions of the airport’s movement restrictions.

The fire that occurred in one of the airport’s terminals has been causing significant issues for the airport’s operations since it broke out. As a result, flight schedules to and from Catania Airport have experienced ongoing disruption, impacting many airlines, including Air Malta.
