‘Goodbye India’: Final Moments Of British Couple And Indian Family Killed In Air India Crash

Air India Flight AI171 crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad on Thursday, killing 241 of the 242 people on board.
Among the passengers were a British couple returning from a trip and an Indian family relocating to the UK. Both had shared photos and videos before boarding.Jamie Ray Greenlaw-Meek and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek, co-founders of the London-based spiritual wellness business The Wellness Foundry, posted a series of videos to Instagram before their flight.
Fiongal, a former fashion designer, said: “We are at the airport, just boarding, goodbye India,” while Jamie joked about the upcoming 10-hour flight. In another clip, they called the trip a “magical experience” and promised to share a vlog of the “mind blowing things” they had encountered.
Jamie added: “We’ve just had the most delicious Thali food. It was the perfect way to round up the trip.”The couple had spent 10 days in India on a wellness retreat. Jamie’s brother, Nick Meek, said the family had expected his return that evening. “He should have landed at 6.30pm and then driven up for about 11 to get his dog who is staying with our Mum,” he said. “She is not in a good way. It is all very raw for her at the moment.”
Also on board were Pratik Joshi, his wife Dr Komi Vyas, and their three children: five-year-old twin sons Nakul and Pradyut, and eight-year-old daughter Miraya. Joshi had been living and working in London for six years.
According to reports, Vyas, a physician at Pacific Hospital in Udaipur, resigned from her position two days before the flight to reunite the family in London. The family had shared a photo from inside the aircraft prior to departure.The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crashed into a residential area near a medical college complex shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Authorities confirmed there were no survivors.
