Watch: ‘Hands Off’ – Mass Anti-Trump Protests Sweep US And Beyond

Hundreds of thousands of protesters gathered across the US on Saturday in the largest nationwide demonstration against President Donald Trump since he took office. Organised under the banner “Hands Off”, rallies were planned in all 50 states and over 1,200 locations worldwide, including cities like London, Paris, and Berlin.
Protesters voiced opposition to a wide range of Trump policies—from immigration and economic inequality to recent import tariffs announced by the administration. Demonstrators in cities like Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington DC turned out in huge numbers.
In Boston, the arrest of Turkish student Rumeysa Ozturk during an immigration raid near Tufts University fuelled anger. “You can stand up today or be taken later,” said law student Katie Smith.
Internationally, protesters carried signs with messages like “Stop hurting people” and “He’s an idiot,” while chanting slogans such as “Hands off Canada,” “Hands off Greenland,” and “Hands off Ukraine” — references to controversial foreign policy statements by Trump.
In Washington DC, Democratic lawmakers addressed crowds, criticising what they called a “billionaire takeover” of the government. Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost accused the administration of serving elite donors like Elon Musk, who has advised Trump and backed federal cuts.
The protests follow a turbulent week for the president. While Republicans held onto a key congressional seat in Florida, the margin was tighter than expected. Meanwhile, a Democrat-backed judge defeated a Musk-endorsed candidate in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court race by nearly 10 points.
Polls show Trump’s approval slipping slightly. A Reuters/Ipsos survey pegged him at 43%, down from 47% in January. Approval of his handling of the economy and cost of living also saw dips.
In Florida, Trump spent the weekend golfing and did not make any public appearances. Protesters near his West Palm Beach resort held anti-tariff signs, while others in Washington poked fun at a proposed tariff on a penguin-inhabited Australian island.
