European President Roberta Metsola got to meet and speak with both Donald Trump and Elon Musk at a high-profile dinner last night.

They were informally introduced to each other and the chat is believed to have gone down well. It was the first time Metsola met both Trump and Musk in person, and she has become the first Maltese politician to meet Trump since his re-election as US President.

Several world leaders were present at the dinner, including French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy, and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The ceremony was held to mark the completion of a five-year reconstruction of the world-famous Notre Dame cathedral that suffered severe damage in a fire back in April 2019.
