Picante! Traditional Maltese Luzzu And Some Killer Local Looks Feature On Portuguese Magazine Cover And Spread

Australian-based Maltese fashion designer Jason Grech has pulled off something we’re sure you didn’t think would ever be possible: he’s only gone and scored an international cover spread for our beloved luzzus.

Portuguese online magazine, PolisArt, featured Grech’s latest shoot on their cover as well as in a six-page spread.
The shoot features models Robyn Zammit and Venla Edelmann of ModelsM against picturesque Maltese backdrops such as the Marsamxett harbour but the real MVP of the shoot is the luzzu.
Jason Grech worked on this shoot with local photographer Matthew Spiteri during his most recent visit to Malta last month, where he was exhibiting a number of collections throughout Malta Fashion Week.

Grech is renowned for paying homage to his Maltese roots, having printed a dress with a Birkirkara band club logo only last summer.
But this time, he’s roped in an entire team of local industry powerhouses. Neville Zammit and Amanda Greaves were behind the hair and makeup, with Grech of course headed the styling… telling his friends how he was “inspired” by the colours of the traditional fishing boats in Marsaxlokk’s waters.

Friends and family flocked to Grech’s post with nothing but praise and it’s hard to not see why. Grech’s career doesn’t seem to be wanting to slow down any time soon; the designer was awarded the Melbourne Lord Mayor’s Commendation Award recently as well.
