Watch: Malta Features In New HBO Documentary Tracking Bitcoin’s Mysterious Founder
A new documentary delving into the mystery of Bitcoin’s mysterious creator “Satoshi Nakamoto” will soon be released by HBO, and Malta is set to make an appearance.
The trailer for ‘Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery’ teases an interview with Adam Back, a renowned figure in the cryptocurrency world who lives in Malta. In the 1990s, Back invented Hascash, a system to limit email span and DoS attacks that became the blueprint of Bitcoin’s mining system.
Back is one of the first people to have received an email from “Satoshi Nakamoto”, the mysterious person or group of people who created Bitcoin. In 2016, The Financial Times even named him as a potential candidate for Satoshi’s identity.
In Money Electric, filmmaker Cullen Hoback explores the origins of Bitcoin and its mysterious creator, its potential as a global financial disruptor, and the people who could hold immense power if it becomes mainstream.
It is set to premiere on 8th October.
