Watch: ‘Your Fight Is Our Fight’ – Roberta Metsola Shows Her Support Towards Belarus’ Fight For Democracy
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola put out a statement in support of Belarus’ struggle in their fight for democracy.
Today marks the third anniversary of Belarus’ fraudulent presidential elections which saw thousands of people in Belarus forced into exile and sent to prison.
Three years later, the situation in Belarus is still the same where anyone who dares to voice any criticism of the system is oppressed.
“The people of Belarus must be free to live democracy, in freedom, in peace” stated Metsola in a video shared to her social media where she continued her statement that people in Belarus deserve to be “Free from autocracy. Free from oppression. Free from violence.”
“Europe stands with you” encouraged Metsola and she confirmed that they are not alone in their fight for democracy, “your fight is our fight.”
