Zelenskyy Warns World War Three Will Erupt If China Sides With Russia In Ukraine
Ukraine’s President Volodymr Zelenskyy warned that World War Three would erupt if China allies itself with Russia in its war in Ukraine.
“For us, it is important that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war,” Zelenskyy told German newspaper Die Welt. “In fact, I would like it to be on our side. At the moment, however, I don’t think it’s possible.”
“But I do see an opportunity for China to make a pragmatic assessment of what is happening here. Because if China allies itself with Russia, there will be a world war, and I do think that China is aware of that.
Zelenskyy come after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned China against providing arms and ammunition to Russia.
“We’ve been watching this very, very closely. And, for the most part, China has been engaged in providing rhetorical, political, diplomatic support to Russia, but we have information that gives us concern that they are considering providing lethal support to Russia in the war against Ukraine,” Blinken said in an interview on Saturday.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin retorted that “it is the United States and not China that is endlessly shipping weapons to the battlefield”.
“We urge the United States to earnestly reflect on its own actions, and do more to alleviate the situation, promote peace and dialogue, and stop shifting blame and spreading false information,” he said.
Only a month ago, Zelenskyy played down suggestions that the Ukraine war will lead to another World War.
“World War I claimed millions of lives. World War II claimed tens of million. There will be no World War III. It is not a trilogy. Ukraine will stop Russia’s aggression on our land. We will do it together with the whole free world,” he said when addressing a speech at the Golden Globe Awards.
