11 Spots in Gozo You Should Totally Visit In The Coming Months

Gozo is one of the top visited spots in summer. Even though the torturous season has come to an end, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t keep on returning to the charming island.

So load up your blanket, picnic baskets and snacks — here are some of the loveliest spots to visit this season in Gozo.

1. Ramla l-Ħamra

This beach is a blanket of reddish sand, and apart from being a lovely spot of unspoilt land, it’s also a very important historical site for the island.

A Roman villa is buried somewhere beneath the red sands, this spot’s charm is a definite must-visit.

2. Qbajjar

This Marsalforn spot boasts one of the few surviving coastal fortifications in Gozo. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a nice cup of coffee with your faithful blanket and dearest friends.

3. Ta’ Gordan Lighthouse

This active lighthouse is located on a peaceful hill close to Għasri.

The area provides a panoramic viewpoint of the island, and the walk up to it will give you that much needed cardio you’ve been whining about lately.

4. San Blas Bay

Getting to this lovely spot is a bit discouraging. The steep hill and bumpy road make the place less frequented than other beaches on the island.

Beig so close to Ramla, the sand here is also of a reddish hue.

5. Sanap Cliffs

Gozo’s response to Dingli cliffs is not only equally lush, but also equally breath-taking. The white cliffs and the cobbled walls will leave you in awe and wonder, these cliffs are totally worth a visit.

6. Tas-Salvatur

Tas-Salvatur is that hill which you can see from pretty much anywhere in Gozo.

It’s topped with a giant statue of Jesus, so you will not have any problems finding it.

7. Ta’ Ċenċ Cliffs

These cliffs adorn the Sannat coastline with their garigue. If you’re around the area you might be lucky enough to spot some pretty cool birds chilling out too.

If you’re in for a bit of an adventure, archaeological remains have been discovered close to the area. They include dolmen, remains of a megalithic temple and cart ruts.

8. Daħlet Qorrot

This small inlet comes complete with a cute beach and cliffs.

Fishermen are often spotted at the base of the cliffs doing their own thing, the powerful boats adorning the deep blue seabed are a proper treat to anyone who is lucky enough to hang out here.

9. Mixta Cave

If you’re more into hiking and adventuring, this is the place you really need to visit.

Tal-Mixta is a great spot to spy on Ramla beach, getting there requires some walking, however it’s totally worth it. The cave is close to Għajn Abdul, another cool spot you’ll enjoy visiting.

10. Lunzjata Valley

This Gozitan valley offers you one of the most relaxing country walks ever.

There’s springs, aqueducts, valleys, chapels and fields. The valley’s rich heritage was mostly the Knights’ work, as the area was used as a hunting spot.

11. Dwejra Bay

A gorgeous bay with calm shallow waters, this spot is a favourite among locals all year round. This is the home of the Fungus Rock, the now gone Azure window and a quaint chapel. Dwejra is the perfect spot for anyone who is into star-gazing.
