450-Year-Old Valletta Building To Host Incredible Audio Visual Performance This Weekend

Valletta’s Lascaris Wharf has been around for centuries, and it looks as magical today as it did back in the old days.

This 450-year-old building down by the capital’s waterfront used to be a warehouse up to a couple of years ago, but recent works have see it being given a bit of a face lift. Now, it’s set to be used for way more than a mere warehouse, and this weekend sees Maltese musician Gabi Sultana perform in this beautiful space.

This is actually the second time that Sultana will be holding an ethereal performance in the space, after she had given a piano recital in the wharf way back in 2010.

“Moving out of traditional performance halls comes with a lot of extra work and organisation, which both Mark and myself were willing to do. We hope it will all be worth the effort.” Gabi told us.

That’s Mark Dingli, another local artist who will be performing alongside Gabi for Amalgamaan audio-reactive visual performance like no other.

Dingli’s visuals were developed to create a harmonious experience which brings together sound and sight in an artistically immersive experience.

Amalgama promises to be way more than a piano recital.

There will also be a piano and modular improv with electronic musician TR-S1.

And on top of all that, the night will also feature a piano transcription piece by Sultana of a piece written by the Non Standard Institute

As you’d expect from a gorgeous 16th century warehouse, seating will be limited, so attendees are being urged to reserve that place.

You can either buy €15 tickets by the door or else you could buy the pre-sale tickets online at €10.50.
